Daniel J. Lacey, Associate Commissioner for Administration

Daniel J. Lacey

Daniel J. Lacey assumed the post of Assistant Commissioner for Administration in January 1991, and then Associate Commissioner in 1994. He is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating a broad management and administrative program that supports the programmatic and technical responsibilities of BLS.

Mr. Lacey previously had been Director of Quality and Information Management at the Bureau. Prior to these appointments he served in a variety of management and staff positions in both the Bureau and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management of the Department of Labor. Mr. Lacey first joined the Department as a Management Intern in 1974.

Mr. Lacey was awarded Meritorious Rank in the Federal Senior Executive Service in 1998 and again in 2003. He also received the highest Departmental Award, The Philip Arnow Award, in 2000.

Mr. Lacey received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Alfred University and did post graduate study at Niagara University.
